5km run.

Finally: photos from the 5km run I did last weekend!

This is right before the race. I found it very emotional filling out my ‘I race for…’ card and thinking about the people I know who have Cancer. I also found it overwhelming and a significant milestone for me to be able to run.

This is me a year ago at WOMAD, where I hired a scooter for the day because I was in too much pain to walk:

Admittedly I am pulling the stupid ‘look at me I’m drinking cider’ face in this picture, but it’s a massive transformation all the same and I am glad for my new drugs and the superpowers they bestow upon me. Long may it last…

In true form, Caro sent me a fantastically positive commemorative card full of admiration and praise for my time of 34 minutes, (which is not bad going for a very first race on a fairly hot day.)

I love my friends, I love the anti-TNF drug, I love being able to run again.
