The third show is made, but there are a few re-records that need to happen, some additional things that need to be added and a few changes made here and there.
In the final episode, I end up with a section from my conversation with Betsan from Stitchlinks, about Frida Khalo, talking about control and how you can’t control circumstances but you can control the way you respond to things.
When I was listening back to us talking about this, I ended up throwing a song/accordion thing together. It was very spontaneous and maybe a bit overly earnest for The Missability Radio Show with it’s light, 1950s woman’s hour feeling, but I think a small section will go in anyway as it really captures the essence of what the Missability Radio Show is about. I love Frida Khalo. My latest walking stick cosy is going to be rather Frida-esque I think; I’m trying out some cabling in the yarn I bought from Stash on the Bluestockings yarn crawl.
I want to make something really like vines, plants… something jungle-style with very red flowers involved. At the moment I think the cable pattern I am using stretches too much over the wooden walking stick and it doesn’t stand out enough – but then that may be because I’m not following the pattern properly! In cable patterns, does one often stitch through the back loop? I can’t work out from the chart whether some of the lines are tbl instructions or just guidelines showing where the cables go! Anyway. Cables there shall be; probably three as it makes it look very square somehow, to have only 2.
I shall revisit the cabling patterns in the stitch dictionary I have and see what I can come up with. These colours make me drool.
