Thank you all for your wonderful comments on the Layter giveaway post, I really enjoyed reading them and learning about some new breeds of sheep.
To select a winner, I allocated numbers to all the comments, then entered them into a random number generator here. The winning number came out as the one I’d allocated to Fine Lightness, whose comment was as follows;
The wool I used was from a sheep called Jura here in Germany, a browny colour. I knit a cardigan with 3/4 sleeves and a cable pattern up each front part. It was a joint project with my Mum and such a joy. We both had very soft fingers as the wool is so natural that the fat content is wonderful.
I had not heard of Jura sheep before – but presume it to be this breed? I am glad this sheep and its lovely wool provided you and your Mum with soft fingers, and I wish you all the luck and joy in the world for knitting your own copy of Layter!
I have sent your pattern to you via Ravelry – Congratulations, and I hope you enjoy knitting Layter!
Thanks again to all who entered; it was wonderful to read about all your experiments and experiences of knitting with breed-specific wool.
