Bat cane – what should go in the pockets?

Here is the Bat-Utility Walking Stick Cosy, nearly finished. The basic tube for this cosy was completed during The Missability Radio Show‘s public exhibition at The Drama Studio in Oxford Brookes University from 12th – 16th September, 2007, by a selection of different knitters from The Oxford Bluestockings (thanks Katie and Ellen!) and now needs to be furnished with a host of pockets and add-on sections.

This cosy is based on Batman’s infamous utility belt. When completed, it will be covered in pockets to house useful knitting notions. The contents of the pockets will equip any user of the walking stick cosy for knitting! Fold out needle-tidies for DPNs, some kind of stitch-marker system, a strip of knitting with buttons for projects neatly sewn in are just some ideas I’ve had, but it’s really open to anyone reading this to offer suggestions or even to sew a pocket or something to attach to the cosy. It is the perfect way to enhance knitting on the move as well as being a great way to cover up that boring grey aluminium finish!
